New regulation by the government that was prompted by the recent controversies in the business world, that stretched as far as Wall Street are boosting the needs for accounting jobs. The need to properly document and maintain accurate records is of utmost importance for compliance with the many new laws regarding financial statements and records that had to be done in a very detailed manner. Even the stock market was hit by the reforms which had companies required to store and keep financial records for as long as 5 years but the time period varies according to the area of business.
The boom is also due to the need for proper money management and monitoring which is the job of accountants as well as interpreting these data for future business strategies. The realm of business will never be the same again for as money gets tougher to get by, more stringent monitoring systems are being put in place. Good for the many accountants who have lost jobs, they have fall back careers to choose from that may just bring them through this recession.

Our fears have been realized and jobs are being lost and not created(except for the Federal Government which claims would be creating jobs), the rest the thousands of job hunters who cannot get a job are left out on a limb. Try to use the full spectrum of job searching, online, social networks, job hunt networks and don;t forget the traditional go out an get it approach.
Jobs are out there, just that you cannot be to picky due to the scarcity, for one opening has several hundred available applicants. Make yourself stand out from the rest and use your failures as motivating factor. Update your resume and take out all add-on’s(entries that have been quite blown up), so you get an honest resume they can trust. Some of these firms really do check ups so when they do, you get the facts nothing more nothing less. You might also want to change the photo(you might still have the one straight from graduation), they might be small changes but they make big changes.

It is very important to be aware of an employer’s expectations. This is crucial to getting that job. Traditional job hunting approaches simply focuses on you. It describes your over all details. Your educational background, your work history, work accomplishments and certain credentials needed. It also highlights your qualifications as well. But the buck stops there. These days, things have changed. Companies or employers doesn’t dwell much on the detailed resume that you submit, it will boil down to you, knowing the company’s needs and being that best fit to contribute greatly within their team. Its Not about you, but what you can do. That is why it is important to show them a positive energy and initiative. All jobs require a certain level of pro-activity. And the best time to look for it in a candidate is the moment he or she walks in the interview room. They can tell. And this can either make or break your opportunity of landing that job.

“Well just call you.” That’s the statement that replays over and over in our minds when the employer doesn’t want to hire us. It’s sad but true. Not all people have the equal luck to get hired easily. We must not feel down about it if we got rejected. Don’t discourage yourself if you don’t get hired on the job you’re applying for. Always think positive. As the Law of Attraction states, “Positive thoughts attract positive things and negative thoughts attract negative things.” There is still an option for you, to look for another job. As if that there isn’t even at least one job that is specifically and rightfully meant for you and your profession. What if the job description written doesn’t match your specialization? I think that it’s best for you to still take on the job even if it’s out of your league. Don’t be afraid to step your comfort zone.
One of the most important factors in job hunting is location. May it be a new job or a career change, it is better to determine how accessible your next workplace will be. Studying about locations and the rate of employment in a particular area offers helpful insights to job seekers. It tells about the cost of living, the salary range, the work habits of people, the tax rates, the employees benefits and a lot more.
